How the Wheeler High School Community Communicates
There are many ways information gets distributed to people throughout the school year for the school, sports, clubs, and peripheral organizations. Here are some key ways to be aware of:
The Wheeler High School Website -www.wheelerhigh.com This website is the main website for the school. It has many resources that you may find helpful. It includes staff contact information, school calendar, links to organizations for sports, clubs, and peripheral entities, as well as links to resources that you may need.
The Wheeler High School PTSA Website - https://wheelerptsa.membershiptoolkit.com/ This website is for the PTSA. Anyone can see most of the information on the site. If you have a membership you can now access a directory of all members. The PTSA puts out a weekly newsletter about the happenings around the school. The newsletters are distributed via email, on the website, and Facebook. Apple has an App available for those who are members which includes a calendar and directory. It is called Membership Toolkit.
Facebook page - Facebook Wheeler High School PTSA Please “like” the page. (By “liking” our page it allows you to get our feed) The PTSA actively keeps the page posts, with pertinent posts that you will be interested, including links to newsletters and events at the school. The PTSA tries not to overload with posts. Some of the classes use Facebook to start study groups. Some sports and clubs use Facebook to communicate.
The Wheeler High School Enews letter - This is an email that will come directly from Wheeler High School PTSA about important events and happenings around the school and community. Subscribe through the PTSA website.
Parentvue/Studentvue - https://parentvue.cobbk12.org/Login_Parent_PXP.aspx?Logout=1 This is a website where you and your student can see your students grades, attendance, and behavior. There is an app for this website.
Blackboard - http://www.cobbk12.org/generalinfo/blackboard/ Blackboard is the Cobb County System. The district uses Blackboard Connect to make telephone calls, text messages and emails for informational and emergency notifications. Please sign up to receive.
Remind – (Used to be Remind101) This is a texting program that works with your phone’s ability to text. It is used by teachers, sports, clubs, and peripheral organizations to give you reminders. You will be asked to put a code into the recipient and in the body of a text. You may need to respond as you get a sign up reply. There is an app for this, look for Membership Toolkit in your App Store. To get reminders about PTSA events and some school events delivered directly to your phone via text, enter this number 81010 and text @wheeler or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Emails – Still a very important part of our communication. Most of the organizations use it as a primary or secondary mode of communication. You can reach all of the staff via email at http://www.cobbk12.org/Wheeler/faculty.aspx Please be sure that your email address is correct, if you are not receiving messages.
Teacher Blogs - http://www.cobbk12.org/Wheeler/faculty.aspx Many of the teachers communicate via a blog, to post large projects, what is being taught, reference guilds and other items. Just click on the name of the teacher. If they have a blog, it will take you to the blog site.
