Accident Avoidance Workshops
Studies show the average time between accidents for experienced drivers is 15 years. For a teen, it’s 10 times more frequent. So the question isn’t “Will my student need this training?” … the question is “Will you have given your students the training before they need it? Every fatal teen accident in the State of Georgia for the past three years could have been prevented by applying the content taught in the Accident Avoidance Workshops. Research has proven if your children die before they’re 20, there’s more than a 50% chance a motor vehicle will be involved in that tragedy.

The Workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this month, and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay, sign up today. Click here for more information and for a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.

Accident Avoidance Workshops
The facts are clear:
Car crashes are the #1 killer of teens.
1 in 4 teens crashes during their first year.
Driver's ed historically has produced no measurable reduction in crash rates.

The Accident Avoidance Workshops reduce the likelihood of your student crashing by more than 75%. So you decide ... which training do YOU want? The State's "absolute minimum requirements" haven't changed in 30 years, but driving has, and so have our roads. As a result, the State has lost such confidence in its own driver training program, they don't even require it anymore. We think your child deserves more than the minimum. We think your child deserves a fighting chance on today's roads, and we hope you will want to give them the tools they will need to survive in today's world.

The Workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this March, and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay; sign up today.  Click here for more information and a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.

Accident Avoidance Workshops
Your kids will try to convince you that everything else is more important than their safety.  Playing sports in school, playing music in band, last minute studying for a test, … whatever. Of course, none of that would matter if they didn’t survive their first crash, so fortunately, you are responsible for their decisions until they’re 18, so you don’t have to fall for it. Prioritize your student’s life first … and all the “extracurricular” stuff second.  It will be a lesson in priorities they will never forget.

The Workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this March and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay, sign up today.  Click here for more information and for a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.

Accident Avoidance Workshops at Wheeler

The Accident Avoidance Workshops reduces the likelihood of your student crashing by more than 75%. So you decide ... which training do YOU want? The State's "absolute minimum requirements" haven't changed in 30 years, but driving has, and so have our roads. We think your child deserves a fighting chance on today's roads, and we hope you will want to give them the tools they will need to survive in today's world. Don't take our word for it. Here’s what parents just like you have to say about the Workshops:

"You think you know what this program is ... but you don't.  This has teeth." -D. Kliewer; Parent

"There's a reason this is the highest-ranked program in the U.S.  You can't understand until you take it." -D. Aaze; Parent

"I had no idea there was a program like this out there.  No kid of mine will ever go without it." -C. Abernathy; Parent

"My son needed to be knocked down a few pegs.  Mission accomplished." -J. Wright; Parent

The Workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this March, and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay; sign up today.  Click here for more information and for a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.

Honoring Our Heroes - Deadline Jan. 22
The holiday break is a great time to start thinking about ideas for Honoring Our Heroes, a writing program designed for students to write an essay about their real-life heroes and role models. We want students to redefine media-hyped and cartoon heroes such as professional athletes, movie stars, and rock musicians, and instead, recognize someone who has made a more personal impact on their life such as a family member, doctor, public safety officer, soldier, or teacher. Look for more information to come after the break.

__________

Winter Mock SAT and ACT tests offered at Wheeler
The Academic Booster Club will be offering two Saturday mock test days this winter to help students prepare for the SAT or ACT tests. The next session in our parent information series will be “All Things Academic,” featuring topics suggested by you. Thank you to those of you who completed the communications survey. This an informational forum that is open to the community. Everyone is welcome.  Topics will include:

  • Naviance – Learn more about and get access to this web portal that helps students and families find colleges and careers based on their personal skills and areas of interests, track their transcript requests and standardized test scores, and even follow college admission requirements and dates.
  • College Choice Process – Get useful tips for how to choose and prepare for a college
  • Post-Secondary Options – How to get into the college of your choice
  • What to do when your student is struggling
  • Counseling – How Wheeler’s Counseling department supports families, provides resources for your student, calculates GPA and much more.

Accident Avoidance Workshops
November 15, 19 and 20

The facts are clear:

  • Car crashes are the #1 killer of teens.
  • 1 in 4 teens crashes during their first year.
  • Driver's Ed historically has produced no measurable reduction in crash rates.

The Accident Avoidance Workshops reduces the likelihood of your student crashing by more than 75%. So, you decide ... which training do YOU want? The State's "absolute minimum requirements" haven't changed in 30 years, but driving has, and so have our roads. As a result, the State has lost such confidence in their own driver training program, they don't even require it anymore. We think your child deserves more than the minimum. We think your child deserves a fighting chance on today's roads, and we hope you will want to give them the tools they will need to survive in today's world.

The Workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this November and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay, sign up today.  Click here for more information and for a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.

Accident Avoidance Workshops
November 15, 19, and 20

Studies show the average time between accidents for experience drivers is 15 years. For a teen, it’s 10 times more frequently. So the question isn’t “Will my student need this training?” … the question is “Will you have given your student the training before they need it? Every fatal teen accident in the State of Georgia for the past 3 years could have been prevented by applying the content taught in the Accident Avoidance Workshops. Research has proven if your child dies before they’re 20, there’s more than a 50% chance a motor vehicle will be involved in that tragedy.

The Workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this November and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay, sign up today.  Click here for more information and for a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.

This content was provided by our PTSA sponsor: Accident Avoidance Workshops
A quick quiz for you:

  1. Do you want to be more comfortable with the idea of sending your student out on to Atlanta roads?
  2. When trying to correct your students while driving, do you get the "I know, I know" or "let me drive" attitude from them?
  3. Do your students have more faith in their driving abilities or think they know more about driving than you feel is justified?
  4. Do your students show little, if any, interest in driving or are they uncertain, timid, or overly anxious behind the wheel?
  5. Do you want your student to have more than "driver's ed" in preparation for Atlanta roads because you feel the "absolute minimum" state requirements aren't enough?

If you answered "yes" to more of these questions than you're comfortable with, we can help with every single one of your above concerns, and then some. The workshops are coming back to Wheeler High School this November, and spaces will go fast! Don’t delay, sign up today. Click here for more information and for a complete schedule, or call 770-262-7009.  If you are ready to register you may click here.
