For those planning on attending college, the Academic Booster Club helps provide resources to help you navigate the testing and college planning world. Please check often to see what is happening and their calendar. They run mock tests, reviews and learning sessions to help you get where you want to be.
The Counseling office can be a great resource during your time at Wheeler. Use them if you need to change your schedule, find a career path, thinking about college, have an issue with a teacher, need additional resources and much more.
Many of our students play a sport. There are many to choose and most will take differing levels of skill. Contact the sport faculty sponsor to see if it is a good fit for you. Most of the sport booster clubs will be selling things and sometimes a portion of the money can be put toward your fees. Be alert for announcements about tryouts and events. Letters are earned differently in each sport.
Clubs and organizations are a good way to get involved at school. There are a lot of different organizations to choose. Contact the faculty sponsor for more information on each club. If you have an interest, Wheeler probably has it. See here as well.
Many students are involved at differing levels with Band. Band has different types - marching, classroom, jazz and solo/ensemble. For Marching Band you do not have to take the band class to be a part, but you do need to know how to play an instrument. For classroom band, it is by level of playing. You do not have to be in Marching Band to be in classroom band and vice versa. They have creative ways to help pay for the band fees. Letters can be earned for Band. You do not have to know how to play an instrument before going to class; there is a class for everyone. There are instruments for rent or you can borrow from the school.
Many students are involved in Orchestra. You do not have to play before you join. There is a class for everyone. There are instruments for rent or borrow from the school.
If singing is your thing, check out the Wheeler High School Chorus!
Interested in drama, art, color guards, or different instruments? There are several activities to choose from. Soon we will have our new auditorium and can do our performances on the big stage!
The yearbook is a great way to get involved with the school. They need all kinds of help putting the yearbook together.
If your interests are more in the journalism or video field there are places for you as well! You can help put together Wildcat TV or The Catalyst News magazine or the Roar Yearbook.

Each year, each class elects officers. These students volunteer their time to plan activities, perform school-improvement projects, and participate in fundraisers in order to help raise money to pay for class activities (for example, prom). There is a slate of officers for each class, Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman.
